1. Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow :
He wandered far in search of the clouds, down winding paths and alleys, till he reached the old mud hut. There, he turned on to the dirt track. He saw a grass-cutter coming from the other direction, a bundle of freshly cut grass balanced on his head. He stopped the man and asked, “Have you seen the clouds there?”
“Clouds?”
The grass-cutter was amazed, as though he had been asked the most peculiar question.
A. Complete the following sentences :

Answer the following questions:

Write a story in about 80 words using the outline given below. Give a suitable title to the story: 8
Points: a soldier, prisoner of war for many years – the soldier returns home – sees a man selling caged birds – buys all caged birds – sets the birds free

My father was a soldier. He fought against Germany in Second World War. In 1942 my uncle joined him. In 1953 my father came home after winning the battle against Germany. He told me how a German soldier killed all the prisoners. After 25 years when my father returned to England, he was suffering from several injuries and diseases. He saw a man selling caged birds. He was so upset. So he bought all the caged birds and sets the birds free.
